FINEST INDOOR BATHS IN ENGLAND OPENED.
Poplar’s new £120,000 public baths in London, occupying the site in East India Dock Road of the first public baths in Britain, were opened recently by Alderman D. W. Adams, M.P.. who said they were the finest indoor baths in England.
There are two swimming baths, one of which will be used in' winter’as a public hall, capable of holding 1800 people. There are also a stage and a cinema screen, and colour nn<l lighting are other features of tlie'interior.
Vapour baths with luxurious euum rnent and 86 slipper baths arc contained in the building, to the erection of which 100 contractors have contributed.
