WALLACE COUNTY COUNCIL.

—Friday 15th August.— The Engineer's report was read as follows: —Since last meeting the weather has been dry, and ordinary surfacing work has been carried on as usual. A start has been made under the Main Highways Act. A report for the month of July has been forwarded to the District Council Chairman reviewing the months work on and the various main highways in the County, and an account for the Board's share of the work done, has also been sent forward. The bridge gang is at present putting in three large concrete pipe culverts on the Orawia-Tuatapere road and adjoining the Public Works railway ballast pit, and near Mr P. Hamilton's house.

Two scheme plans of smb-division at' Ohai (each marked Ohai Extension No. 13 probably by mistake), are submitted for vour approval and are now in order. One is an extension of Mr S; D. Mill's subdivision, and is part of section 182, Waiau Survey district, the other *9 subdivision of part of Mr A. It. Porteous' land, and being part of lot 19 Birchwood estate.
