To-morrow the Worst or n District Champion Singles and Doubles competitions will be played on' tlie local greens. Th.e manager of the National Bank at Morrinsville was charged last week with having in his ■pouts ess ion an unregistered automatic pistol. The loyalty cf New Zealanders has been the subject of favourable comment by 31 r W. C. Trembell, proprietor and editor of the 'lmperial Reporter,' Enniskillen, Ireland, .who visited the Dominion during the latter part of laist year. In an article in the"' Imperial Reporter' he refers to the .fact that when tlje gong sounded, for 'dinner at an Auckland hotel the strains of 'God Save the King,' played by the orchestra, were iu-aul by those in the lounge, and immediately everyone, including Americans, rose to attention. He adds, " I eonfeee I was moved. Here in the last outpost of the far-flung Empire the evening moal was , not begun till we had saluted the KingEmperor as the head of our G-reat Executive; and in honouring him we honoured ourselves. This is an act of daily occurrence."
