WELLINGTON, February 7. John Arbukle, formerly secretary of the New Zealand Miner’s Federation, iccent-ly arrested in: Australia, appeared in the. It was stated by counsel for the 'Association that the defalcations were about ' £SOO, bjut in regard to the Broken Hill funds the amount involved was something like; £4OOO or
.5000. A remand until to-motrow* week was granted. Bail was. fixed ,at £IOOO and'two sureties of £SOO each, accused to report oiice a day to the police. ' 1 i -
