OTAUTAU RIVER BOARD.

The monthly meeting was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs E. Harrington (chair), R. Scatter, R. Ford, and W. Walker. —Coombs’ Bank. — Air Walker reported that Air R. James complained of the size of the hank-proposed at Coombs’, and that he was not prepared to allow, material off his land for so large a bank. —Left in the hands of No. 1 sub-committee to attend to. A charge for rates made upon land which has reverted to the Railway Department was written off. Accounts amounting to £l4 8s 7d were passed for payment. —Notice of Alotion.— Air Walker gave notice of his, intention to move at next meeting “ That the Board take into consideration what steps should he taken to curtail expenses, also whether the Board meetings should be held at longer intervals, and also that up till the month of October meetings should he held at 7 p.m. • —Extending District.—

The clerk was directed to report to next meeting the steps required to he taken for the extension of the River District boundary.
