This is a falsehood, and to satisfy the public at large willlgivc the second horse one hundred yards in one mile on any race course in Southland for the same amount. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this Office up to noon of Monday, 23rd November, 1885, for the Supply and Delivery of Sleepers on the Southern Division of the Hurunui-Bluff Railway. Specifications to be seen and forms of Tender obtained at the Bailway Offices, Dunedin, Tapanui, Invercargill and Riverton. Tenders to be addressed to the General Manager of New Zealand Railways, Wellington, and to be marked outside “Tender for Sleepers.” The lowest or any lender will not necessarily be accepted, and Telegraphic Tenders will not be entertained. Train from InverJL cargill to Riverton will run through to Orcpuki, leaving Riverton and running same as on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Returning, will leave Orcpuki at 3,30 p.m ; arriving Riverton 4.50 p.m. The ordinary 4.0 p.m. from Riverton to Invercargill will leave at 5.0 p.m., and will be ono hour later at all stations to destination. The ordinary 4.5 p.m., Invercargill to Orepuki, and 5.15 p.m. from Riverton to Nightcaps, will leave respectively at 5.5 p.m. and 6.15 p.m., and will be one hour l iter at all stidions to destination, connecting at Thornbury as usual. The ordinary 4.15 p.m., Invercargill tp Clinton, will leave at 4.55 p.m., and will be correspondingly late to destination. The ordinary 4.10 p.m., Invercargill to Bluff, will leave at 5.10 p.m,; arriving at Bluff at 6.15 p.m.. and the ordinary 5.30 p.m,, Bluff to Invercargill, will not leave till 6.30 p.m.; arriving Invercargill at 7.30 p.m. WINTON RACES. ~ A Special Train will leave Invercargill for Winton Racecourse at 10.45 a.m.; arriving opposite Eacecourse at 12 noon. Passengers returning by evening train from Lumsden to Invercargill, which will leave Racecourse at 6.40 p.m. A Special Train will leave Lumsden for Invercargill at 9.55 a.m.; Dipton, 10.40 a.m.; Winton, 11.55 a.m. ; Mdcarewa, 12.40 p.m,; arriving Invercargill, 1.15 p.m. A Special Train will leave Invercargill for Lumsden at 530 p.m.; Makarewa, 6.10 p.m.; Winton, 7.11 p m.; Dipton, 830 p.m.; arrive at Lumsden, 9.15 p.m. The ordinary 3.40 p.m. from Lumsden to Invercargill will leave at' 4.40 p.m., and will be one hour lata at all stations to destination. The 9.55 a.m. and 4 49 p.m. from Lumslen, and 11.45 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. from Invercargill will stop opposite Winton Racecourse for passengers. FARES. SATURDAY RETURN TICKETS, issued O from any station to any station on the Hurunui-Blulf section on 7th and 9th November, will be available for RETURN up lo and including MONDAY, IGxh NOVEMBER. CHRISTCHURCH RACES, November 10th, 12lh, 13th. AGRICULTURAL SHOW, Nov. 9th, 10th, 11th. EXCURSION FARES. In connection with the above named cheap Excursion Fares will ba issued to Christchurch by the following station : First. Second. Eivcrton 58s 40s Tickets at the Fares named will be issued by the Ordinary Trains on the 6th, 7th, 9th, 10tb, and lltli, and will be available up to and including the 23rd November. A special Train will also leave Dunedin for Christchurch on evening of November 7th, deponing at 8.10 p.m,, arriving in Christchurch about 7.30 following morning. A Return Special will leave Christchurch for Dunedin at 8.30 p.m. on Saturday, 14th November, arriving in Dunedin, about 7.30 a.m. on 15th. Passengers may break the journey at any stopping place on direct lino of route, going or returning, proceeding afterwards by Service Trains. Passengers leaving Invercargill by Express on morning of 7th will bo able to avail themselves of Night Special from Dunedin same date.
