Loss of Rate Revenue
Fears for the future of its income from rates should the Mortgage Corporation Bill be passed were expressed at a recent meeting of the Whangamomona County Council, members feeling that "following a wholesale repudiation by the Crown of liability for rates, the council would have practically no funds to carry on with. It was decided to support a Christchurch protest placed before the meeting.
