Military Ball on Friday.
Invitations are being issued for a | Military Ball to be held in the Municipal Theatre, Waipukurau, on Friday next. The ball, which is to be a combined function, is being organised by the 19th Battery and the members of the Officers’ Training Course at present in camp. As there arc considerably over 100 officers and men in camp and as this will be the last function of its kind during the present camping season a most enjoyable evening should result. Admission will be by invitation only. St. Andrew’s Church. The Bev. W. D. Morrison-Suther-land, formerly of Mt. Albert, Auckland, conducted the services held in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church yesterday. The sermons were very impressive and followed with close attention by the congregation. A specially pleasing feature of the evening service was the rendering by a quartette of vocalists (Messrs J. Cook and S. Annand and Misses L. .Tones and Jean Gibson) of the number “Cast Thy Burden On The Lord,” while the choir, under the capable baton of Mr E. Malkin, provided an excellently interpreted anthem.
