Both passed through the windscreen, drilling holes about quarter of an inch apart and missing Higgins by a fraction of an inch. It is thought, that robbery was the motive, but that the high-way-man intended to get a Wanganui tradesman who is known to carry substantial sums of money and who passes along the road at all hours of the night.
