Mistakes Still Being Made. There wore many mistakes made yesterday incidental to -adjusting watches and clocks in order to conform to the periodically changed national time. Despite the publiity given to the termination of daylight saving for the 1932-3 summe-c period -a number of people overlooked the fact, while others put their time-pieces forward instead of back! Of course the trouble was accentuated in those cases where it is customary to have the clocks and watches up to half-an-hour ahead of the correct time. The telephone exchange was appealed to in some in-.f stances for information, while in net a few eases the fire siren at 7.30 o’clock this morning was the first authoritative source of guidance!

A Valueless Cheque Stopping at a Waipukurau • petrol station on Sunday, March 12, two men in a ear purchased a quantity of petrol and oil. and. as payment, tendered a cheque for £2, which was accepted. They were charged with assault and robbery at Tokomaru Boy and remanded to Gisborne, the police stating that they were also wanted on charges of theft at Gisborne. Napier and Wellington.
