CONFIDENCE LOST
In Present Government CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE EXPRESS STRONG VIEWS . . (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Associated Chambers of Commerce executive, after a full discussion in committee this morning, passed a resolution in which it said that the Associated Chambers had always opposed Government interference in commercial business. The present Government had pursued a policy of progressive and increasing interference, culminating in the fixation of exchange rates. The Association solemnly protested against this latest and greatest act of interference and especially against the breach of faith by the Prime Minister, who had but recently Stated positively and definitely that the fixation of exchange rates was a matter with which the ' Government would not interfere. The Associaated Chambers of Commerce, representing the commercial community, therefore was reluctantly compelled to state publicly that it has lost all confidence in the present Government.
