A conference to discuss certain of the conditions in the ship owners new terms met this morning, but conclusions are not expected before 1 oclock. GISBORNE POSITION MEN AT WORK UNDER PROTEST (Per Press Association) GISBORNE, This Day. The waterside situation was today brought into line with conditions at other ports, when the unionists, accepted work on the coastal steamer Tiroa, under protest, on the old conditions and at the new rates, pending the result of the Wellington conference. It is understood that instructions were received yesterday from the Waterside Union headquarters amending the previous advice to combat the new rates and conditions.
