SOUTHERN COAL MINERS SHORTAGE NOT ANTICIPATED (Per Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Last Night. At a meeting of miners at Nightcaps it was decided by an over-x whelming majority to reject orders and proposals, work to cease immediately. Black Lion mine now owned by McSkimmings, of Ben Har, will continue to work as the agreement made by the owner and miners is considered satisfactory. The various miners affected are Linton, Wairaki, Mossbank, BirchWood and Black Diamond. To-day no further intimation had been received from the union and it was learnt in tnvercargill that no work w-as being done at any of the mines except! the Black Lion. It is understood there is no immediate danger of a shortage of supplies as fairly good stocks are on hand at most of the yards.
