SHIELD GAME RESULTS

WEEK-END TOURNAMENT

Last Saturday the Club played six teams against Hastings in the second round of the District Shield games, going down badjy, losing 5 games out of the 'six, Nelson’s team being the, only rink to secure a win. The aggregate points were 135 to 99. The local teams had to be largely altered at the. last moment, which may perhaps account for their defeat. Sutherland, Maddison, 18; Kemp, Bowen, White, Nelson, 20. Next Saturday the club play against Wairere 4 teams, Waipawa (1) and Kia Toa (1). To travel to Waipawa —Duckworth sc-nr., Petherick, Martin, Lourie (s). At home against Wairere—Cowper. Saunders, Murphy, ,Moore (s); Gardner, Major, Scott, Haldane (s).

At home against Kia Toa —Johnston. Brown, Burgess, Richards (s). Now that more settled weather appears likely, it behoves all players to get in as much practice as possible, so as to enable the selector to have a better chance of picking the players in
