TRENTHAM MEETING. RESUMED TO-DAY. (Per Pt ess Association.) TRENTHAM, This day. Heavy show’ers alternated with bright sunshine on Sunday and at night a good deal of rain fell, but when morning came the weather w-as fine, though laden clouds overhung the camp. A start was made promptly at 8 o’clock with the 300 yards range of the Auckland Match. The 1 >ght was dull, but steady and not a breath'of w T ind stirring, so that scoring was “hot,” four 49’s W’ere on the //cards in. a few’ minutes. If present conditions hold as the. morning progresses there should he many similar scores. Goldfinch, who is tying wl,th Huns for second place in the aggregate for the King’s fifty, had hard luck; he became seriously ill on Saturday night necessitating his removal to hospital.
