WAIPAWA GUN CLUB.

SHOOT FOR HOLDEN CUP.

There was a good-muster of shoodsie from all parts of the district for the Waipawa Gun Club’s Holden Cup match last Wednesday afternoon. The weather, unfortunately, was showery, and the light was very bad, affecting'tho scores considerably.

The cup was won by J. Benson, who shot very consistently throughout. In the £l5 match, fired in with the cup, three of tho competitors tied and divided.

Following are the details of the various competitions: —

Holden Cup, 15 birds. —T. Parker, D. Fraser and J. Benson tied with .13 each, T. Sullivan 12, 11. Ellis, A. Knapp, J. McCleary, F. AVithcrow 11, A. Robottom, C. Chirk, T. Howard, and A. McGaftin 10. These were all eligible to shoot off for the trophy in a further six-bird match. Bem?on, who got five out of six, won, with 18, by one from D. Fraser. Robottom shot well in tho shoot-off and got the whole six, finisning up with a total of 16. Benson, Fraser and Parker divided the stake money, £4 63 apiece. Sweepstake, 10 birds.—McGafftu, Fraser, Sullivan, AVitherow, Knapp and Brotherton divided the money, with nine breaks each. X Sweepstake, 5 birds. —C. Clark, with five breaks, was first. Sullivan and Parker tied for second honours with four.
