Bostock and Wombwell’s Circus and Menagerie.
TO-NIGHT. A visit to Woodville is to be paid to-night by Bostock and Wombwoll’s novelty circus and menagerie, when a brief stay of one night only will b ■ made. Tho combination, which has just concluded playing to large audiences in Wellington, is said to be a very large and extremely powerful one, and quite different to any other circus and menagerie that has visited New Zealand. The monag'Tie comprises a large and varied Si lection cf animals, many of them being extremely rare and valuable, and the nowlty circus company, winch is be idee! by the Lukisbima Troupe of Japanese acrobats and balancers, is absolutely unique owing to (be fact that there are none of the horse acts which are usually seen at a circus. Besides the Japanese the performers are many and varied. and consist of the following turns The Pastor Brothers, musical grotesques ; Jarvis and Cam) bell, scientific and comic jugglers; Mons Menier, the human ostrich , Signor Bertani, in bis unequalled performance on an unsupported ladder ; and last, but not least, Happy Jackies and his wonderful and highly trained performing dogs. Notwithstanding the expense incurred in bringing the full etiength of this vast organisation to Woodville the management have decided to charge the same price of admission as obtained in Wellington, 4s 3s and 2s. Owing to the boisterous weather, the management has wisely decided to give (be performance in (be D ill Hall, which is being lilted up for (he occasion. Tho menagerie will be shown in tuo paddock an joining iho Hall.
