At a meeting of the Employers’ Association to-night, it was resolved that while the Association is not adverse to the Premier's proposed conference, it cannot, in \iew of the 'u<agre information given, and the difficulties disclosed, see i s way to send delegate; and also considers that before the joint conference is held, there should be a separate conference for employe rs and workers. New Plymouth, Jan. 16. The Tradesmen’s Asso iation decided to send a delegate to the proposed Labour Parliament at Christchurch only on condition that the Government defray the expenses. The Government’s offer to pay faie alone is considered inadequate in view of the conference having been convened by the Government. A conference of a 1 the Tradesmen's Associations in Taranaki will be held at Eltham on Thursday, 18 h inst.
