jLIVE STOCK MARKET. Mr Matthew Henry report*),'— The entries for both Palmerston and Pahiatua sales were very much below the averge, the showery weather keeping shearing back. The attendance has also been unusually small, and in consequence there was not much business transacted. Quotations as under : Cattle.—2-yr steers, 40s to 465; yearling to 18-mos., 82s 6d. Sheep.—2 and 4-tooth wethers, 7s 9d. Piga.—Weaners, 10s. Meesrs Abraham and Williams report:—At Paluierston sheep were forward in numbers considerably more than advertised, but cattlo did not reach the number expected owing to the river being flooded. The at tendance was good, and the demand quite equal to last week, in fact wethers and grown bullocks showed a considerable advance on last week's quotations. A very j succes»ful sale resulted. Quotations:— j Palmerston.—Sheep—Fat and forward wethers in wool, lis Id; do. shorn. 8s 6d; cull wethers, 7s Id; mixed hoggets, 6s 2d; cull 4s Id ; shorn ewes and lambs, 6s to 8s 6d; fat bullocks, £5 ss; 4-yr do., £4 to £4 3s ; 2-yr do., £3 10s to £3 18s; 2£-yr do., £2 8s 6d to £2 17s ; 2-yr steers, £2 2s to £2 8s; cows and calves (poor) 35s ; 2-yr heifers, 29s 6d to 375; yearling do., 20s; cows in calf, £2 to £3 7s. Pigs—Small weaners, ss; porkers, 15s.
