MASTERTON POST OFFICE.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE INDEPENDENT. Sic, — I believe that this office is the only place in Masterton where stumps are sold. Ib frequently happens that a sufficient supply of duty and postage stamps is not kept on hand by the postmaster to meet the requirements of the public. I believe at this moment there is not a shilling or a penny receipt Btamp in the office, and there certainly has not been for some time past, and in consequence the public are obliged to go to the Greytown post-office, where more regularity in the issue and supply of stamps appears to exist than in Masterton. I do nob pretend to know the cause of the irregularity, but I think it is high time for those who are paid for their services to see that the public are not put to inconvenience by reason of the neglect of sub-officials, — I am, &o, One op thk Public.
