signature was appended. With the object of putting a stop to the too common practice amongst seamen of absenting themselves just as steamers are leaving, bis Worship sentenced the defendant to a month's imprisonment.

VAGBAKOY. A vagrant named James Doughty was sent to gaol for seven days.

Marshinant failed to appear in support of an application for a protection order against her husband, but it was nevertheless proved in Court that the treatment of her husband had been anything but kind and considerate. The Husband, who was present; \»aa admonished upon his misdeeds and Warned as to what would befall hiof^if he appeared before the Court again in the characterof a wife-beater.
