The names, tonnage, and horse-power of tho vessels proposed to be employed in this service to be stated, and the vessels to be appi'oved by the Postmaster-General, and subject to be surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever he - may consider it necessary. The Postmaster-General to liavo the power of detaining the vessels for twenty -four hours at any port without charge ; tho rate of demurrage per diem for any further detention to be stated. TO CONTRACTORS. nnHE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER is JL prepared to receive tenders for clearing one hundred and twenty-seven chains, more or less, of bush, and seventy-six chains, more or less, of scrub, on the line of Telegraph Line between the commencement of tho lino at the Tenui Valley, in the Province of Wellington and Ephraima, in the Province of Hawke's Bay. Tenders to etate the price per chain for each "work separately. Specifications can be seen, and full information as to locality, &c, can bo obtained at the office of tho Telegraph Engineer, Wellington, and at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Napier. Each tender must bo accompauicd by a deposit of five pounds sterling, as an evidence of good fuith. The usual sureties will bo required of tho accepted tenderer. Tenders endorsed " Tenders for clearing bush and scrub," and addressed " The Telegraph Engineer, Wellington," must be sent in not later than the 19th day of December next.
