WRECK OF THE P.S. GUNDAGAI.

We regret to learn by Saturday's mail, that the Government steamer G-undagai has been wrecked at Patea. When this Vessel last left Wellington, a rumor was current here that she was seen to go down in the straits. This; however, turned'Cout to be incorrect, as, she arrived all safe at Wanganui. From Wanganui she .proceeded to Patea, and it appears from a letter which haß been obligingly furnished us by J7 Forrester & Co., of 'fCobb & Co.'s" coach,.. that she went ashore there on Monday night, the 25th ult.; and had broken in half. Fortunately all hands were saved. This is a most unfortunate occurrence, as she had recently undergone a thorough overhaul,' and a considerable amount of money had, been spent upon her. '
