LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.

Miss Harriet Gordon. — This lady's entertainment came off in the Odd Fellows' Hall last night, in the presence of a tolerably numerous audience. It consisted of a judicious selection of music, comedy, and farce, in which Miss Gordon with a happy versatility, sustains almost apparently without effort half-a-dozen different characters. " The Morning Call" was sustained with spirit and effect throughout. The part of Mrs. Chillington, bavi»g an extra dash of humour at times verging to burlesque, thrown into it, while Mr. Hyde, as Sir Edward Herbert, did justice to the character. The great attraction, howerer, wa«« Miss Gordon's singing, which was really exquisite, while the pianoforte accompaniments was a triumph of aristic skill. The operatic scena ''Tyrant soon I'll burst my chains' from the Barber of Serille, was greeted with vigorous manifestations of delight, aud the song " Auld Bobin Grey," was rendered with much taste and power. The evening's amusements concluded with a protean farce, "Love's- disguises " which was a great hit, and sent the audience home delighted.
