The well known Burnham Water Farm, in the immediate neighbourhood of Wellington, comprising the whole of Watt's Peninsula, and some adjoining land in Evans' Bay; containing - about 2,;3Q0 acres, moro or less — well grassed— ' forming one well bounded paddock, fenced by the: sea on all but one side. The Furnham Water Farm offers peculiar facilities for the supplj of the City of Wellington with fat stock, lambs, and dairy produce. This farm is also admirably adapted as an erttrepot for stock, intended for the Canterbury aud Otago markets ; as on it a large number of cattle or sheep, can always be kept 1 ready for shipment, and where they can recruit from the effects of their previous land journey. As the Province of Nelson is said to be exhausted of cattle and pleuro pneumonia has cut off the im--1 port from Australia; Wellington appears to be the only port, from which a large supply can he drawn for the Otago market.
