The well known Burnham Water Farm, in the immediate neighbourhood of Wellington, comprising the whole of Watt's Peninsula, and. some adjoining land in Evans* Bay; containing aboHt 2,300 acres, more or leas — well grass,ed— forming one well bounded paddock, fenced by .the sea on all but one bide. The Burnham Water Farm offers peculiar facilities for the suppl> of the City of Wellington with fat stock, lambs, and dairy produce. This farm is also admirably adapted as an entrepot for stock,* intended for the Canterbury and Otago markets ; as on it a large number of cattle or sheep, can always be kept ready for shipment, and where they can recruit from the effects of their previous land journey. As the Province of Nelson is said to be exhausted of cattle and pleuro pneumonia has cut off the import from Australia; Wellington appears to be the only port, from which a large supply can be drawn for the Otago market. Offers for the rent of this farm will be received up to the 23rd August, or, until after the arrival in Wellington of tke s.s. Queen with the August mail from the South, addressed to J. C.
