The Miners in the employment ojf the Mining Company at Newcastle, baying. recently gone on strike, a large number of extra hands have been procured from Melbourne.: The correspondent of the Sydney Herald at that place says : —

Yesterday it was currently reported that one of the vessels witb the miners from Melbourne was' off tlie port ; towards afternoon a barque was signalled, but could not get in, in consequence of the heavy sea running at the time.
