Accident to Mr. Woodward. — A strange accident happened to this gentleman on Friday evening. About 7 o'clock, he was returning from dinner to tbe Provincial Treasury, when walking up the steps on the Sydney Street side, he felt what first appeared to be a blow on his leg irom a stone. With great difficulty he reached the building, and immediately sent for Dr. Johnston, who pronounced the injury to result from the snapping of some of the fibres of tbe great. tendon. Mr. Woodward was conveyed home on horseback, and, by the aid of a crutch, it is thought, probable he "will be able to leave his room in a few days.

The Anniversary.— Ou Friday evening last, a public meeting was held at the Coach and Horses, Hotel, Manners-street, for the purpose of making arrangements for the Anniveisary Regatta. The meeting was well attended, and considerable interest appeared to be taken iv the proceedings by those present. George Hunter, Esq., was unanimously voted to the chair, and the usual preliminary resolutions, appointing a Secretary, Treasurer, Committee, &c, were passed without dissent. Another meeting was held last evening, George Hunter, Esq., in the chair, when measures were adopted to carry out the Rngatta with eclat.
