NOTICE TO IMMIGRANTS.: -nf-IR PROVINCIAL Government of "■JtJ- Wellington will, in pursuance of tlio Resolution of the Provincial Council, bo prepared to convey to each Immigrant (introduced undor thoir Regulations) as soon as he shall have redeemed his Promissory Note, or Notes, a quantity of land equal in value (at the rate of lOs. an acrej to one-fourth of the amount of his Passage Money. For example:— every Immigrant on redemption of his Promissory Note or Notes, will be entitled to receive teu acres of land for every Twenty Pounds he shall have paid on account of the passage of himself and family. These Grants of laud will be either made out of blocks specially reserved for Immigration purposes in Small Farm and Agricultural Settlements, or in the immediate vicinity of Roads in process of construction or the Immigrant may select the quantity 'i/hich he shall be declared entitled out of any lauds open to purchase as rural. Iv order to facilitate the location of Immigrants desirous of immediately settling upon land and of being employed on the Public Works, Reserves will be ■made wherever practicable, along or near each line of road, aud will be laid off in Ten acre sections, which the Immigrants will be permitted at once to occupy, receiving a conveyance of the same as soon as they shall have paid the whole of their Passage Money. Regulations. 1. Repayment of the Passage Money to be secured by Promissory Note, signed by "the applicant, and one other party approved by Government, payable on demand, and of which payment will be required by reasonable instalments, except in case of applicant or surety leaving the colony, when immediate payment will be required, or provision must be made for the same. 2. As a further security, and to protect the parties on whose application the Emigrant is brought out, the Emigrant himself, (or.head of a family where there are women and children) will before embarking, be required to give Promissory Notes, payable on demand, which will be forwarded to the Local Government. 3. In case of any Emigrant applied for, accepting the offer of a Passage, but not presenting himself for embarkation at the time and place appointed by the Shipping Agents in England, and so being left behind, one hall of the passage money will be forfeited, and must be paid to the Provincial Government on demand, by the Applicants iv the Colony, for which the first-mentioned Promissory Notes will be a security. 4. An allowance, according to Act of Parliament, will be made by tho Shipping Agents iv London, in caso of the ■ Ships not sailing to tho day. 5. Emigrants and thoir personal baggage will be' landed free of expense. 6.—Rate of Passage Money.
