GARDENERS' CALENDAR, JULY.

This is the first month in the seaspn in which seeds can be sown out ot doors with any prospect of their vegetating. Experience teaches in New Zealand, seeds should only be lighly covered with earth, otherwise in numeious instances they will be found to rot in the ground. Flower Garden.— Prepare ground for seed to be sown next month. Kitchen Garden. —Sow cabbages, carrots, parsnips, onions, leeks, broad beans, pot herbs, and shrub trees. Field. —Keep the weeds under by preparing ground; plant English or Native forest trees; sow spring barley, but on fine soil.
