THE WAIHI GOLDFIELD
REQUEST FOR GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY NEGOTIATIONS IN PROGRESS With reference to the efforts of the Mayor, Mr W. M. Wallnutt, assisted by Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., in urging the importance of having a geophysical survey of Waihi district carried out, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, actingMinister in charge of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, has advised Mr Wallnutt that negotiations are already in progress with the Waihi Gold Mining Company with regard to the application of a geophysical survey of the district. The advisability, or otherwise, of this survey will be discussed at a consultation between the secretary of the department, the Director of Geological Survey and the officials of the mine.
