MUNICIPAL PARAMOUNT. Tho fine production, “The Firing Line,” which was presented at the Opera House for the first time on Saturday night under such auspicious circumstances, attracted another good house last night, and the programme generally gave the utmost satisfaction. This superb picture will he screened for the last time to-night, and those who have not seen it should not fail to make the screen acquaintance of Miss Irene Castle as Sheila Cardross. To-morrow night will be a complete change of programme in which Dorothy Dalton figures in» tfie Paramount Artcraft production OTHER MEN’S WIVES which affords great scope for tho display of this great and popular artist’s pourtrayal of the character she represents, Cynthia Brock, a young and beautiful woman moving in a world of luxury. 'The circumstances leading up to tire abandonment" of her social environment and butterfly existence, and plunging into a world of work and honest living to win back her selfrespect must be seen on the Opera House screen to bo thoroughly appreciated. “Other Men’s Wives” and a strong supporting programme should be favoured with big public patronage at the House to-morrow night—the only night this great picture will be presented. i CESARONI. The appearance of a vocalist in Wanganui of the calibre of Cesaroni, the Italian operatic basso, should cause great interest amongst all who take- an ‘interest in things musical, Cesaroni first came to the Dominion as a member of the Gousalez Opera Company, and later as an artist of the* Cappelli Concert Company. lie was recognised on each occasion as a singer of great ability, his fine voice, coupled with a masterly skill in interpretation, stamping him as an artist above the average. Cesaroni has just completed a most successful season in Auckland, where the critics unanimously agreed that he is the greatest basso who has appeared in that city for many years past. Like many other Italian singers of note, Cesaroni is well endowed with that temperamental quality without which no artist can hope to attain success. Hia lengthy experience on the operatic stage in all the European capitals has given him a freedom of delivery in his various numbers which make for the enjoymen, of .his auditors. In the matter of production, Cesaroni is said to be a master, his excellent use of the mezzo voice not only being a delight, but a skilful pourtrayal of what can really be accomplished by a serious student of singing. Thil fine artist will be heard at the Opera House next Thursday and Friday evenings. He is supported by a brilliant company of artists, and, on the reputation which the company has already established, should attract huge audiences. The plan ojiened at H. I. Jones and Son’s this (Tuesday) morning. H.A.C.B.S.
