London: Meat.— Demand for English meat is limited except for best quality and lamb. Average prices are: Beef Is sd, (Biutton fs 7}d, lamb Is lid. Argentine chilled beef is in active demand at full mice, hinds Is, forces Bd. No change in price for imported meat except New Zealand uncut ewes which have been reduced to Bd. Batter.—Average price English butter is £l7 ,2s 8d; price Irish has advanced owing to short supplies—£l7 ss, £l7 10s. Cheese. —Market quiet and prices unchanged for English £8 12s, £9 2s. Canadian market is easier owing to largo arrivals; Spot £7 16s, £8; c.i.f. £7 11s to £7 14s. Hemp.—Manila market quiet but prices well maintained. “J” grade, August--October shipment, has been sold early this week for £66, but present quotation "s £65. New Zealand market quiet but nrices have slightly advanced; Sellers’ highpoints, spot, £55; fair, £53. May-July shipment, £54 and £sl respectively. Honey.—Market quiet.
