MOTOR TAXATION

GOVERNMENT’S INTENTIONS. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 24. There is a good deal of speculation as to the legislation which the Government is preparing on the subject of taxation for improvement of roads. Mr Stuart Wilson, of the New Zealand Automobile Union, states that he has it on good authority that there is an intention on the part of the Government to grant rebates on taxation to farmers owning motor vehicles.
