PRISONERS SENTENCED AT AUCKLAND. (Per United Press Association.l AUCKLAND, July 23. ■ At the Supremo' Court, Alfred Chambers pleaded guilty to a charge that he committed bigamy in Wellington and that ho masqueraded as a single man and induced a respectable girl to marry him ■while his wife was living. Judge Salmond said the. offence was cruel and heartless, and sentenced accused to three years’ hard labour. Emanuel Wilson, a man with a police record, admitted the theft of .£2(l and a watch, and was sentenced to three years with hard labour. Robert Bell, on a- charge of false, pretences a.nd forgery, was sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment and three years’ detention.
