INDIAN FRONTIER FIGHTING.
TRIBESMEN SUBMIT.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association ALLAHABAD, Nov. 18.
The Waziris have accepted Britain’s terms. They were brought to terms by bombing attacks. Kaniguram, the Mahsud capital, was bombed on the 13th, also Makin and Naroti on the same day. Twentyfive tons of bombs were dropped. The Mahsuds were warned previously that ample time would be given to remove the women and children. When the aeroplanes left the capital was afire from end to end. It was still burning two days later. Very little was left standing. Several smaller villages were also effectively bombed. It is understood the Afghans told the tribesmen to, make thp best settlement possible, refusing them aid.
WAZIRIS SURRENDER Received November 20, 8.45 a.m, ALLAHABAD, November 19. In signifying their acceptance of the British terms to General Climo at Datta Khel, the Waziris were very submissive. Having suffered badly from the blockade, their poverty was obvious. Rifles and money have been handed over, and four villages have been evacuated by the Mahsuds. The casualties from the bombing at Mana are reported heavy.
