CHURCH NOTES.

The Bishop of the Diocese will > hold a confirmation at Christ Church on Sunday morning, at 11 o’clock. There will be a children’s flower service at All Saints, Wanganui East, at 2.3 op.m. to-morrow. The second people’s service in connection with, the special eeriea commenced last month will be held all Trinity Methodist Church on Sunday evening. A special address will be given and the musical portion of the service, under Mr Bickerton’s direction, will commence at 6.45. The anthem “O Gladsome light” will be rendered by the choir, and Mr Brewer will sing the solo “The Lord is My Light.” To-morrow (Sunday) the Gonville Methodist Sunday School are holding their anniversary, and a treat will be afforded all lovers of sacred music. The children forborne time have been preparing special hymns under the capable leadership of Mr P. Warwick. The services of an excellent orchestra have been secured,and the whole promises to be a huge success. The preachers will be: 11 a.m., J, Grigg; 3 p.m.. Pastor N. G. Noble; 7 p.m., Eev. A. M. Costain. The anniversary services of the luges tro Street Baptist Church will be held on Sunday. The preacher for the day will be the Eev. Stanley Jenkin, pastor of the church, and the choir, under the leadership of Mr L. Honeycombe, will render special anthems at hoth services. “Home, Sweet Home” is the name of a special service of song to be rendered by the band end songsters at the Salvation Army Citadel to-morrow night. The connective reading is said to be most interesting, and the band music will bo in keeping with the service. On Sunday afternoon, at 3 o’clock, in the Central Hall, Guyton Street, the Wanganui Men’s Brotherhood are keeping up the World’s Temperance Sunday, w&en a special address will be given by the President of the No-Licenee League, Mr G. W. McCaul.' Miss Lily Hambly will contribute one of her pleasing solos. The executive hop© there will be a large audience present.
