AMUSEMENTS & MEETINGS.
A service for all Confirmation candidates and their friends will be held at Christ Church to-morrow afternoon at 2.30 p.m. A service, under the auspices of tie Ministers’ Association, will be held at Durie Hill School at 3 p.m. .to-morrow, when the Rev. S. Jenkin will officiate. The services in the Methodist Churches of Wanganui on Sunday will not only partake of the nature of thanksgiving, but the day has been specially arranged to receive the offerings for Building Funds and renovations. Special envelopes have been provided, and the totals will be announced at the close of each service. The Rev. H. L. Blamires will also conduct a patriotic service at Wanganui East at 3 p.m. The popular local company who staged “Aladdin” so successfully last year will produce the beautiful pantomime “Cinderella” early in December. A feature of the performance will be the beautiful ballets arranged by Mrs Cleland. These are entirely new and novel. The stage settings have been painted by Mr H. MelviJlfe and will prove quite a revelation. The music is bright and pretty, and tie chorus is making great strides. The “book” has the merit of being locally written, and follows the story closely. The costuming is a feature and true to the period. The attention of all'performers is called to the rehearsal to be held this evening at 7.30.
