AN ELTHAM JOKE.

GOLDEN GRID BROKEN INTO. A burglary was committed in Eltham on Monday evening, when some persons, at present unknown, broke into the Golden Grid in Bridge Street, and stole a 'considerable quantity of goods of various descriptions. No one entered the restaurant until next morning, when it was noticed that during the night a panel had been forced from the lower portion of the front door, and the place ■ ransacked, and a quantity of goods 1 having been removed. Three local men called at the Eltham Police Station the following morning and confessed their guilt, stating that it was done as a joke. All the stolen goods will be replaced. The police must, of course, take further proceedings.—Argus.
