GERMAN DISSENSION.

BAVARIANS DISSATISFIED. "DOWN WITH THE PRUSSIAN." A Rotterdam newspaper of January 8, a copy of which has been received by an Auckland business man, contains the following information received through a Swiss correspondent: The Bavarian people are much dissatisfied with the treatment meted out to them by the Prussian Chief Command, which, they assert, has simply used the Bavarians as 'cannon fodder." Under pressure of the Bavarian Government the Imperial Government has been compelled to make the concession that the last son out of a houshold shall not be sent to the firing-line. Another grievance is that Prussia insists on commandeering Bavarian foodstuffs, for the benefit of the Prussians. Batoeki, the food dictator, went to Munich to seize all the available cattle, fowls, and butter, but had no success. After he had left it became known through the Confectioaere' Association that the Bavarian Minister had pledged hie word to deliver one million eggs to Prussia. This was too much for the populace, and a revolt took place, in which invalided aoWiere, their wives, and children participated. The cry of TDown with the Prussians" came from thousands of throats, and also "We want to keep our foodstuffs and do not want them to go to Prussia." Baron von Sehon, formerly German Ambassador at Paris ,and now German representative at the Court of Bavaria, but a Bavarian by birth, watched the movement from the windows of his hotel, and he ia reported to have said to a friend who stood near him, "We have now been 2{ years in the claws of this war. We cannot stop it, but Bavaria will have a terrible account to settle with Prussia. We know what the HohensoDern. wars have cost us in blood and money, and this will be the last time that a Bavarian will shed his Mood for the benefit of the King of Prussia."
