TENDERS are invited for a Lease from the Wanganui Harbour Board of an area lying between the leasehold of the Wanganui Meat Freezing Company, Ltd., and the Castlecliff Wharf. The lease ie for a period of eighteen years and five months from the 17th day of May next, with rights of renewal, and further renewal at the expiration of each such term on giving three months' notice, at a ground rental to be settled by arbitration. The lease will contain provisions requiring the lessee to pay all rates and taxes and keep everything in repair, to insure, not to remove buildings without the Board's consent, nor to call on the Board to fence, nor to assign or sublet without the Board's consent (provided- that such consent shall not be arbitrarily withheld) to carry on on the said land the business of meat freezing or preserving or preparing meat for export, nor to creat a nuisance, nor to injure the water frontage, or to interfere with the public access to the wharves; also a proviso that the Board may encroach on the land for wharf extension without compensation, and a proviso entitling the Board to resume the land at any time on giving five yeaTs' notice and paying compensation for the lessee's erections and plant on the land, and a proviso that in the event of default of 30 days in payment of rent or of breach of covenant the Board may re-enter and determine the lease Particulars and conditions of tender may be inspected at the Board's Office, Taupo Quay.
