AMUSEMENTS AND MEETINGS

EVERYBODY'S

Increased attendances nightly at Everybody's bear testimony to the excellent biil-of-fare provided. "A Woman's Power," with Douglas McLean and Molly King in the title roles, is an excellent picture. One of the sweetest little dramas shown for some time is "The Mating," a 5-act Mutual drama. A picture of military interest, "Military SporLs at Masterton," is also worthy of consideration, whilst the other supports receive much appreciation.

Emily Stevens, famous as ;i stage and screen star, will be seen at Everybody's Theatre on Monday in a newMetro wonderplay of businesslii'e and the underworld called "The Wager." It deals with a bet made by business men and a police official that one of them, a jeweller, can bo victimised of jewels worth 5000 dollars. Then follow a series of dramatic situations. "The Masqucraders," a ''ammis Players' production, starring Hazel Dawn, will also be screened.

HIS MAJESTY'S. "The Love which passeth all understanding" is finely exemplified in "The Stronger Love,'" the superb Moroseo drama now screening at His Majesty's Theatre to large houses. Vivian Martin is dainty and demure as the heroine and her wondrous mop of curls is much in evidence. Jack Livingstone is a manly and handsome hero, and the plot is really original. The dance in the schoolhousc is very homely and realistic, the photography being splendid. BILLIE BURKE IN "GLORIA'S ROMANCE." The growth of a girl from maidenhood to womanhood is beautifully handled in Mr and Mrs Hughes' film novel, "Gloria's Romance." Iho first episode of which, "Lost in the Everglades," commences at His Majesty's Theatre next Monday evening. This ambitious undertaking marks a new era in the moving picture arena. Billie Burke is absolutely satisfying in every chapter, and her characterisation of the "flapper" stage of the .ovely Gloria is full of winsomeness. She is "up to something" every minute of the time. "Somewhere in France," a Triangle drama by Richard Harding Davis, will be shown in addition. Louise Glaum, the official "siren" lady of this company, and Howard Hickman, have the title roles.
