Describing the semi-final in the Ma-na-watu Easter Tournament, the Mana* watu Times says: The match between Hill, Lusoombe, Johnson and Smart (sk.) New Plymouth and Bantw, Wight Brothers and Fraaer (sk.) 4 St. John's was commenced shortly after 11.30, and provided a very exciting contest. The first round saw the jack well covered in the opening stages, but Fraser broke the head, eaxrying the jack into the ditch. Smart failed to draw, and Fraser with a fine shot scored one. In the second and third heads Fraser drew the shot, and the succeeding play saw even scorings Fraser led at tie twelfth nead, 12—9, but Smart reduced the lead to 12—11 in t»he thirteenth. The fourteenth bead was a fine exhibition of bowling. Smart 1 !! good lead gave him two, and the scorn stood fourteen all. New Pljmootfe scored four in the sixteenth head, audi in the seventeenth Fraser brought hi*, score up to 15. At the end of tim eighteenth head the score stood, Smart 19, Fraser 15. Fraser won the final head with nie game ending Smart 20, Fraser 18. Smart defeated N. H. Nash for iM final by a point, 16—15.
