THE KAITAIA TRAGEDY

FINDING AT INQUEST. (Per United Press Association.) KAITAI, March 31. The inquest regarding the death of Mitai Aperahama, whose body was -exhumed on March 7, has concluded. The following verdict was returned by the jury: “That Mitai Aper&hama died on or about August 14, 1913, in Victoria Valley, and that eight persons arrested as well as Hariata Hnra and Pari Horima, now dead, and Hori Hbrima, or, George Karima, now at the war, on or about August 14. 1913, did cause the death of Mitai Aperahama by suffocation at Victoria Valley,” The jury added a rider that Tobungaism was practised both on the date of the murder and for a long time previously in Victoria Valley.
