DANISH WEST INDIES.
(Reuter's Telegram.) WASHINGTpN, March 29. Rear-Admiral Thirrae is named as the first Governor of Danish West Indies. The United States takes possession on Saturday. An important fortification will be constructed and the island need as a naval base for Panama and general military purposes.
