26TH REINFORCEMENTS
DRAFT LEAVES ON FEBRUARY 5. Mobilisation of the 26th Reinforcements, as far as Group 20 Wanganui and district is concerned, will take place on February 5. The draft from Taumarunui will arrive in Wanganui at 1.10 p.m. on Monday, February 5, and will be marched to the Drill Hall and from there the men will be taken to dinner The Wanganui section of the draft will assemble at the Drill Hall at Ipm on that date. Group rolls will be called at 2.43 p.m. and the men exercised in a few necessary drill movements. At 3.13 p.m. the whole draft will be entertained at afternoon tea by the ladies of Wanganui and farewell addresses will be given by citizens. The drift will parade at 4.15 p.m. and march to the railway station, and join the 4.35 p.m. train for Palmerston North. On arrival there the men will be billeted on the A. and P. show grounds, and will proceed to camp by special train leaving Palmerston at 6.30 a.m. on February 6 Lieut. Dixon, acting commandant of Group 20, will be in charge of the draft, assisted by Sergte.Major Harrison and Bowker.
