THE CAT PERIL.
The Medical Officer of Health for Berwick announces in his report to the authorities that he has' made a series of microscopic investigations into the bacteria infesting the fur of the domestic cat, and he finds that there is hardly a species of disease-spreading bacteria that cannot be isolated from the cat’s : fur, and in epidemics of diphtheria, pneumonia and scarlet fever it should not be forgotten what part the domestic cat might play. Cats are, it is stated, a positive danger, to children especially, and more/dangerous in spreading disease than eVen the house fly.
