THE CHURCHES.
A most interesting service will be held in.St. Andrew’s ;Church cm, Sunday _ evening, when Mr B. P. Evans, of Kai Iwi, will he ordained as Home Missionary of the New Zealand Presbyterian Church. The service will be carried out by the Rev. D. Caldcr, assisted by Elders. The Rev, L. Hudson will conduct both services at ■ Trinity Methodist Church. These will be Mr Hudson's last public services prior to his leaving Wanganui. Mrs Goss will sing “The Better Land.’’ At Dublin Street Rev. E. Bandy will preach in the morning, and Mr W. .L Andrew, M.A., in the evening. Both services at Gonville will be conducted by the Rev. F. P. Kollow. At Westmero the preachers will be, Mr R. B. Horsley (morning), and Rev. E. Bandy (afternoon and evening). Mr 11. Brown will preach at Kaitoke in the afternoon. Mr W. Grundy will occupy the pulpit both morning and evening, at Knox Church, Gonville Avenue, to-morrow. Subject in the evening, “Our Responsibility.’’ At the Baptist Church, Ingestre Street, to-morrow, the morning service will bo .conducted by Mr Cuttle. At the evening service, the Rev. F. H. Radford will refer to the week of self denial in aid of the Foreign Missions. In a brief pre-' hide he will also reply to the liquor trade’s advertisement. The Rev. Andrew, of Dunedin, commences his ministry at the Wanganui East Baptist Church on the first (Sunday in January. The usual lecture- will be given at the Theosophical Society’s rooms, Victoria Avenue, on Sunday, at 7 p.m. Subject, “The Place of Theosophy in the Coming Civilisation.’ The subject chosen for discourse on Sunday evening at the Druids’ Hall floclp-e room) is entitled “Times and Signs, or Evidence that the End is Near.” Service commences at 7 p.m, A cordial wet come to all. The Aramoho Methodist Sunday School anniversary will take place on' Sunday, in the schoolroom. A special gallery has been erected to accommodate the children. The singing of the children will be well worth going a long way to hear, and it is expected that the schoolroom will be crowded for each' service. Services will be held at 11 a.in., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m. Collections are in ’ aid of the Sunday School. ' . The services in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. D. Calder, B.A. Mr Caldcr will preach at Westmero at 2.30 in the afternoon. In the Central Hall to-morrow,, an address will be delivered on “A Good Time Comine.” All welcome. ‘ .At the Young Men’s Christian Association to-morrow, Mr' G. E. McGrath will speak at the strangers’ and members’ social tea, at 5 p.m. The rooms open at 4 p.m. Bible class oil Monday at 7.15 p.m. At the Church of Christ, Mathieson Street, to-morrow evening Mr Chas, Downey will take as his subject. “Changing the Bible,” and will reply to ROI7 I C recent criticisms of the scriptures. There will also he special singim? by the choir. A hearty invitation is given to all. At the Y.M.C.A. to-morrow .afternoon, tit G. F. McGrath will be the speaker, at the strangers’ and members’ social tea, at o p.m. Spend an hour with us before Bible class (open) Monday 7.15 p.m To-morrow, the Citadel Band will renaer special items, also the male company. Ine Sisters Adams from Auckland will be welcomed during the day. Y.P. Anniversary next Sunday, conducted by Major Colvin from Wellington.
