SIR GEORGE REID.

HIS TERM AS HIGH COMMISSIONER Press Association—Telegraph—Copyright. Received November 28, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, November 28.

In the Federal House of Representatives, the question of Sir Geo. Reid’s re-appointment for one year was discussed. Statements made by Messrs Cook and Glynn show that it was intended to extend Sir George Reid’s term for three or five years, but the elections intervened. Mr Cook said that if the Liberal Government had known Sir George Reid was going to be treated in this manner jie would have taken care to re-appoint him before the dissolution.
