THE GENERAL ELECTION.
WANGANUI. Mr C. E. Mackay’s friends and supporters arc invited to meet him at the Druids’ Hall this evening, at 7.30 o’clock, for the urpose of forming a committee. A meeting of ladies is called at the Borough Council Chambers to-morrow (Tuesday) afternoon, at 3 o’clock, with a view to forming a ladies’ committee. Mr Geo. Hutchison calls, a meeting of his friends and supporters at the Druids’ Hall on Wednesday, at 8 p.m., and a meeting of ladies at Mrs Blair’s tea-rooms on Thursday, at 4 p.m., for the purpose of forming general and ladies’ committees respectively.
Mr A. Joblin gave an interesting address to the Harbour Board’s employees (at the quarries on Saturday evening, a id was listened to’with great attention At the close of his address he.was'accorded an enthusiastic vote ■of - thanks. The candidate is to speak at Upokougaro age in before the election, by special refiiiest. '
